Orange Mane Petals

Posted by Jun in Macro Shots, Flowers

Most men are clueless about flowers. Count me in.

Though I don’t know much about blooms and buds and stuff, I still know how to appreciate beauty and be awed by the intricate spirals of a rose, the look of this soulful thoughts behind this flower, and the fragrance of the sampaguita or the child-like ordinariliness of the santan.

 Orange Flower

Picture taken with automatic flash, around dusk of 13 April 2007 in Bicol, specifically at the garden of Lolo Inggo in Bula, Camarines Sur.

Flowers are always held in the light of feminininity: soft, fragile and complex (just insert positive superlatives here). But this particular image, to me, emanates a slightly male aura - much like that of the lion. I don’t know what it is called but its petals remind me of Simba’s mane.

Anybody who knows what this flower’s name is?

hmmm, looks like a daisy to me. you may have compared it to a lion because of its colors, combination of gold and orange gold. yes, flowers bing out different soulful thoughts in us.
