Wallpaper: Rice Grain in the Sun and Shade

Posted by Jun in Rural Life, Wallpaper

This is one of the wallpaper-esque photos I took when we went to Bicol in April of 2007. The countryside is a great source of interesting photos. What may look ordinary everyday may look different through a lens specially taking pictures when the sun is up.

The object (or objects) of interest were being dried on a concrete basketball court, a ubiquitous staple found in every corner of a barrio. Farmers use the court to dry their harvest before taking it to the miller.

The goal post’s board served as the shadow-giver.

Taken with my trusty Fujifilm Finepix A303. I hope I’d have a DSLR like a Canon 300D, 350D or 400D, a Nikon 40D or any decent camera. I think I have outgrown my point and shooter but the piggy bank is not ready yet.
