Palaopao Mountains of Sumilao, Bukidnon

Palaopao Mountains is situated  in the mountains of Bukidnon. It is  located at the latitude and longitude coordinates of 8.316667 and 124.916667. The location is not very densely populated with 46 people per square kilometers. The nearest large town of about 50,000 or more inhabitants takes 242 minutes by local transportation. Palaopao Mountains has a humid (> 0.65 p/pet) climate. The land area is not cultivated, most of the natural vegetation is still intact. The landscape is mostly covered with rain fed croplands. The climate is classified as a tropical wet (no dry season) with a subtropical moist forest biozone . The soil in the area is high in nitosols, andosols (nt), soil with deep, clay-enriched lower horizon with shiny surfaces.

Mt. Dulang-Dulang, Second Highest Mountain in the Philippines

Mt. Dulang-Dulang, second-highest mountain in the Philippines acquires one of the most remarkable forests in the whole of the country. The long trek towards the peak shows off a variety of scenery, starting from the broad track with pine trees, lowland and succeeding into thicker and thicker jungle areas. The jungle will achieve to the point that almost everything is enclosed with moss and clouds. Trees at the jungle looks like bonsai; with spiraling, intricate branches and a numerous lichen and white moss that it almost has an enchanted feel to the forest. The temperature almost always goes down even during daytime, and when you come out from the jungle to the peak of the mountain, then behold the panoramic view of an amazing creation. You’ll also be able to see the Mount Kitanglad Range and even take a peek of the splendid highest mountain in the Philippines-  Mt. Apo.

Paiyak Cave of Palaopao Mountains

Well preserved cliffside Paiyak Cave is located in the southeastern wall of the Palao-pao Mountain. It has hanging ladders ascending a cliff wall to the cave’s mouth. This multi-chambered cave is an ancient burial site. Paiyak Cave can astonish anyone who would come to visit and see for themselves the stalagmites and stalactites that have been said to be over million years old. The cave is an hour walk from Sayre Highway, Kisolon, Sumilao, Bukidnon.
