Exploring Mount Capistrano
Mount Capistrano is well-known as the evacuation spot in the remarkable World War II, this mountain is distinguished by its exceptional rock structure and the tough caves that it accommodates. Nature trekkers, mountain hiker and nature enthusiasts find an excellent spot at the peak of this rocky mountain, although rough and razor-sharp, to see a panorama of Bukidnon’s splendor as it tender a free, panoramic view of the nearby mountains and the acres of rice and cornfields from the lands down under. There are as I’ve known two entry points to Mount Capistrano. You can start your climb starting at Barangay Managok, which is 18 kilometers away from the City of Malaybalay proper bound south. Or you can also start your climb at the Sitio Binalbagan which is part of Barangay Simaya, Malaybalay City.

The parable of the spider
Spiders are everywhere. People think they are gross and dirty creatures. Most of the time we are frightened and we try to kill them. What we fail to recognize is that they help us take out all the insects and flies in our homes. Spiders do not mind living in poor or rich houses. Now who do you think taught spiders to make such webs? God taught them long before they were made.
A spider starts life inside an egg. The mother spider lays many eggs. Sometimes the mother spider dies after laying her eggs. The eggs usually hatch in a very short time. A baby spider is shaped like its mother, but may be lighter in color. The baby spider is soon able to spin its own web and capture its own food. It does not have to be taught. This comes naturally. Just like when you learn how to crawl or walk when you were a baby.

Lapu-Lapu Shrine, Cebu City
Lapu-Lapu Shrine is located in Punta Engaño, Mactan Island, Cebu City. It is a 20-foot bronze statue erected in honor of native Visayan chieftain Lapu-Lapu who defeated Ferdinand Magellan during the historic Battle of Mactan in 1521. Kaliph Pulaka or commonly called Lapu-Lapu was born on 1491AD and died on 1542AD. He was not only a chieftain, he was also the Datu (king) of Mactan Island Philippines.
When Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan set foot on Mactan Island to colonize and convert the local people to Christianity, Lapu-Lapu resisted. It is then the start of the historic Battle of Mactan where Lapu-Lapu and his men came out victorious by killing Magellan. Lapu-Lapu is then recognized as the first Filipino who have repelled European aggression and also the first Philippine National Hero.
