Pine trees of Malaybalay City
Subject of the photograph is a pine tree. Pine trees symbolize creativity, longevity, immortality and life. Pine trees are evergreen, resinous trees growing 3-80m tall with majority reaching at about 15-45m tall. Pines are long lived reaching at about 100-1,000 years while some species exceed to the years expected.
Pine trees are recognized with their needle-like leaves and cones. There are many pine trees found in our locale- Malaybalay City. They help complete the ecosystem of our forest. Pines are very much important to us, humans. They help us create fuel, timber and wood pulps. During Christmas season, they are commercially grown and used as a Christmas tree. Its cones are used as ornamentals while its needles can be used in making baskets, pots or trays.
