Taoist Temple, Cebu City
One of the most popular tourist spot in Cebu is the Taoist Temple. It is located in Beverly Hills Subdivision. Taoist Temple is 300 meters above sea level. The place is very much solemn and is a place for worship for Taoist devotees. The temple is open for everybody whether you are a worshiper or not. It was constructed in the year 1972 by Cebu’s prominent Chinoy community.
The place was indeed a very solemn one. You need to wash your hands before entering the temple. You will not be allowed to enter if you are not barefooted and you also need to drop two blocks of wood. If the blocks of wood is faced up, it means you could make a wish but if not, then it is still not your time to make a wish and maybe you can go back to the temple next time.

Basilica Minore del Santo Niño- Oldest Church in the Philippines
Basilica Minore del Santo Niño Cebu or Baslica of Santo Niño formerly known as San Agustin Church is considered as the oldest Roman Catholic Church in the Philippines. It was built by Spanish Explorer Miguel Lopez de Legazpi in 1565, few meters away from Magellan’s Cross. Back then, it was made of hard wood, nipa and mud. It is allegedly built on the exact spot where the sculpture of Santo Niño depicting Jesus Christ as black holy child was found by the Spaniards in a burned wooden box which was believed left behind during the 1521 Magellan’s Expedition.
This church was destroyed by fire twice and was rebuilt in 1602 and 1735. It was then constructed out of hard stone materials from Capiz and Panay and was transported through wooden boats. The reconstruction of the church was completed in 1739.
