Whitewater Rafting nowadays has been very popular that hundreds of people want to have a taste of what this adventure may bring. Whitewater rafting in Mindanao is to be found at Cagayan de Oro City wherein they do the rafting at Cagayan de Oro River. Cagayan de Oro Whitewater Rafting allows people to see the beautiful scenery of the Cagayan River.

Whitewater Rafting Adventure

Subject of the photograph is a water sport called Whitewater Rafting. It is a recreational outdoor activity which basically uses a raft to navigate bodies of water particularly a river. This activity is usually done in different degrees of rough water with the purpose of thrilling and giving excitement to the passenger of the raft. The development of this activity as a sport is becoming popular here in the Philippines. This water sport started in Cagayan de Oro City and for over time, it evolved all throughout the Philippines.

We had a chance to experience this breathtaking activity. We availed the beginners course because we have 2 kids in our group. That package includes free pickup from the airport and the hotel of your choice, the use of their safety gears such as helmets, life vest, and paddle. And of course the 12km ride commanded by expert guides through 7.6 miles course with 14 different breathtaking rapids. The rapid intervals are not less than 10-15 minutes away from each other. As you go along the stretch of Cagayan de Oro River, you can see beautiful stunning panoramic views of the rivers rocky walls, untouched forest and even wild animals such as monkeys and snakes. Our estimated time of arrival at the finish line is 3 hours but because of the very rapid water, we were able to reach our destination for about 2 ½ hours. Read more…
